Wyoming Sex Offender Busted In Colorado By U.S. Marshals

Dick Blust says Bruce Leon Harms was picked up Wednesday night in Grand Junction, Colorado by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell says articles about Harms in both mainstream and social media led to information that he was in the Mesa County area.

Harms was originally convicted in Los Angeles in 1989 of oral copulation by force. After moving to Sweetwater County, Harms was convicted in 2013 of failure to register as a sex offender.

He was charged with the same crime again on May 30 after law enforcement officers couldn't find him during a county-wide sex offender sweep. Harms will now be returned to Sweetwater County to face the latest charges.

If convicted of those charges, he could face up to 10 years in prison, a $1000 fine or both.
