Here is a quick update on the current road closures in South-Central Wyoming.

WyDot is planning to open 287 south of Laramie sometime today, as weather allows.

Regarding I-80 between Laramie and Cheyenne, maintenance crews are working on a couple of the larger drifts with the rotary plow. Once they are finished with that, they hope to open the east bound lanes from Laramie, where current wind speeds are 42 mph.

As for I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins, current wind speeds of 48 mph in the Arlington/ Elk Mountain area are creating dangerous visibility and drifting issues. At the present time, this road section is to remain closed with no anticipated opening time.

Most road surfaces are very slick with blowing/drifting snow, so be very cautious.
