Republican Representative Sam Krone of Cody has been charged with three felony counts of larceny, three misdemeanor counts of larceny and one misdemeanor count of theft.

The criminal charges, which were filed by the Wyoming Attorney General's Office on Friday, follow an investigation by special agents of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

An affidavit by DCI Agent Brady Patrick accuses Krone of diverting $9,633.81 from the Park County Bar Association for his own use.

The transactions took place between March 2, 2010 and October 18, 2013 while Krone was serving as treasurer of the association.

Because the case is pending, the Attorney General's Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation will not comment on the charges.

In February, Park County Attorney Bryan Skoric fired Krone from his job as deputy county prosecutor for sending a series of profane and belittling texts to a woman being prosecuted by his office.
