Troopers on opposite sides of the State made several significant unrelated seizures within the last week which have resulted in six individuals being arrested facing felony charges.  Seized were pound amounts of marijuana, methamphetamine and U.S. currency.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt Stephen Townsend says the four contacts were the results of traffic stops for speeding 102 MPH in 75 MPH zone, following too close whereupon the driver was found to be driving while under suspension, a speed warning and a property damage crash.

The three seizures of marijuana were made in Uinta County near Evanston on Interstate 80 and total almost 100 pounds.  That amount of marijuana has an approximate street value of $589,380.00.  Also, 1/4 pound of methamphetamine was seized during one of the above marijuana seizures which has an approximate street value of $2,500.00. He said the currency may be proceeds from drug trafficking activities, organized crime or money laundering. The currency, an undisclosed exact amount but over $32,000.00, was seized during a traffic stop on Interstate 90 in Crook County near Sundance.  No arrests as of yet have come from this cash seizure.

All six individuals arrested have been charged with possession of a controlled substance in plant form, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy to commit delivery of a controlled substance. Townesnd says the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation continue to investigate these criminal interdiction cases.  None of the marijuana was destined for Wyoming.
