UPDATE: Taylor Haynes interview on KGAB on Friday has now been moved up to 8:30 a.m.

Wyoming gubernatorial candidate Taylor Haynes says he will address concerns about his eligibility to run for governor of Wyoming Friday morning on KGAB radio in Cheyenne.

The Republican is also vowing to unveil the forces behind what he says is a false controversy. Haynes 2018 campaign has been dogged by allegations that he is not eligible to serve as governor because he has not lived in Wyoming for the past five years.

The state constitution establishes that guideline for serving as the state's chief executive. A Laramie County District Court Judge recently ruled that Haynes' campaign could continue after the Wyoming Secretary of State's office challenged his eligibility.

There is no such residency requirement for the state's congressional delegation, and Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee says legally a non-resident could be elected to represent Wyoming in Congress so long as they took up residency in Wyoming prior to being sworn into office.

Haynes is slated to be interviewed by KGAB morning host Glenn Woods at  9 a.m. Friday, August 17. The state's primary election will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Haynes is one of six candidates vying for the GOP gubernatorial nomination in Wyoming.
