LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has stocked 750 large trout into reservoirs between Laramie and Cheyenne.

The game department says the trout have been culled from breeding stock at Boulder Fish Rearing Station. When they get past a certain age, their usefulness as breeders falls off and the department stocks them for anglers.

The department stocked 500 of the trout at Crystal Reservoir and 250 of them at Granite Reservoir. They weigh between three and six pounds and average 16-18 inches.

Ice is beginning to form on both of the reservoirs but the department says it's still unsafe and urged anglers to use caution.
