The Wyoming Department of Education is seeking houses of worship to participated in the Summer Food Service Program for summer of 2013. The Summer Food Service Program helps Wyoming children up to the age of 18 get the nutrition they need during the summer months when they don't have access to other school meal programs. The Summer Food Service Program is administered at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and at the state level by the Wyoming Department of Education. Spokeswoman Amanda Anderson says in previous years, churches in Wyoming have been successful participants in this program but more sponsors are needed at the local level. Through this program, churches can feed children during the summer and be reimbursed for the meals they served to kids.
