The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) is accepting public comments on an application for Part B Federal Special Education Funds. Department of Education spokesman Tom Lacock says in the application for the funds, the state has to provide assurances that it has in effect policies and procedures to meet all eligibility requirements of Part B of the Act as found in PL 108-446, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and applicable regulations.

The state must also submit a spreadsheet that includes a description of how amounts retained for state administration and state-level activities will be used to meet the requirements of Part B. Specifically how those amounts will be allocated among the state-level activities.

The Department will be accepting public comment from March 31, 2014 through May 5, 2014. The state will review and consider all public comments and make any necessary modifications to the application or policies and procedures, as appropriate.
