The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will host a call-in with Deb Lindsey, Assessment Director, to discuss recent changes in statewide assessments on Thursday Sept. 18, from 10 - 11 am.Lindsey will give a brief background of the changes in advance of the public release of PAWS and ACT test scores on Monday, September 22nd, and will then take questions.

Lindsey in a release for the education department said “the 2014 PAWS sets an entirely new baseline for student performance. This does not mean that students know less than 2013 and earlier, or that schools are doing a poor job educating their students – it’s that the test itself reflects the much higher expectations we now have for Wyoming students.” She added that “a period of adjustment is expected over the short term, but over time, more and more students will meet the new, higher expectations."

Please call in at 1-877-278-8686 and enter pin number 074383 at the prompt. All interested stakeholders are welcome to join.
