Jeff Jons, a maintenance supervisor with the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp (WHCC) in Newcastle, has been selected as the Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) Employee of the Year.

Jons is a maintenance supervisor in charge of the WHCC grounds crew. Jons provides expertise in maintaining WHCC’s garden area, which, according to a news release,  generates thousands of pounds of fresh produce each year for staff and inmates to eat.

Officer of the Year

Officer Ian Connelly, from the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (WMCI), has been selected as the WDOC Officer of the Year.

Officer Connelly has been employed with WMCI for the past four years. During this time he has worked every security post at WMCI and has never needed direct supervision to complete any assigned task. His tasks are always completed in a timely and professional manner. He is currently assigned to the Warehouse, where he serves as a mentor to new officers.
