Wyoming Community College Tuition May Change

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Community College Commission is considering changes in the tuition policy for all seven community colleges in the state.

The commission likely will not make a decision regarding the policy until this fall, which means any changes would not go into effect until the 2017-18 academic year.

The leading proposed option is to begin charging full-time students for every credit they take. Currently full-time students are charged only for the first 12 credits. They receive any additional credits free.

Wyoming Community College Commission Executive Director Jim Rose says tuition rates currently are determined based on the state's median family income and comparisons to other colleges in the Western region.
