The 9th annual Laramie Peak Volunteer Fire Department ATV Poker Run was the most successful yet.

They broke a record for attendance with 309 people entering the game and even more along for the ride.

$12,000 was raised for the all volunteer fire department.

$6000 in prizes were given away with the top prize of $2000 going to a young couple who are going to use that money for their honeymoon.

The fire department sits at the base of Black Mountain with a rich history of Indian encampments and homesteaders going back to the early days of Fort Laramie.

The firehouse keep watch over the timber and grass lands in the area and is a long drive off any main road and is staffed by the few locals that live in the area. Every member of the fire department is a volunteer, the money is used for upkeep and maintenance.

The KGAB Morning show in Cheyenne Wyoming was proud to take part in getting the word out and helping in their record breaking attendance.

The video is of KGAB morning host Glenn Woods on his first ATV ride ever.

He did not die.
