A 25 year old Cheyenne woman was arrested at 7 a.m. Tuesday on charges of attempted homicide, according to police spokesman Dan Long.

Cecilia Garcia allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Martin Gallegos, 26, of Cheyenne, during a domestic dispute that started earlier in the night at their home. The argument eventually moved to the kitchen where Garcia allegedly grabbed several kitchen knives and stabbed her boyfriend twice, once in the left shoulder and once in the lower back.

Gallegos ran to the bathroom where he locked himself in and then escaped out the bathroom window when Garcia began to stab the bathroom door, according to police.

Both Garcia and her boyfriend were treated at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for their injuries. 19 year old Jonny Gurule, of Cheyenne, was on scene when officers arrived and was later arrested for giving police a false identity.

This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
