JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Large swaths of public land surrounding Jackson Hole are off limits to human activity through the end of April.

The closures to protect wintering wildlife begin Monday and include many of the hillsides rising above Jackson.

Most of the closed areas are on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Elk and bison hunters are exempt from the National Elk Refuge road closures until their seasons end.
