A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Cheyenne from 11 a.m. Monday until 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service.

Winter storm warnings and advisories have been issued for other parts of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle. The service issued this statement on its website:

" Winter Storm Warnings have been expanded this evening into northern Carbon County and all of Converse County for Monday. A strong low pressure system is expected to move through the area with widespread snow developing after noon time Monday. Snow is expected to start initially out in Carbon (Rawlins) and Converse (Douglas) Counties with snow spreading east through the afternoon. Strong winds are also expected with this low pressure system with north winds gusting to 45 mph pretty common. Expect travel impacts as the day progresses Monday afternoon into the evening hours, especially on Interstate 25 (Douglas to Casper) and Highway 287 at Muddy Gap, north of Rawlins. Snow expected to spread east into the Nebraska Panhandle by mid evening Monday, where we still have Winter Storm Watches in effect. If traveling across southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle Monday into Tuesday, keep up on the latest forecast as driving conditions are expected to deteriorate across most areas. Snow looks to end by Tuesday afternoon."
