Gusty winds along Interstate 80 are being blamed for the Feb.12 accident that killed a commercial vehicle driver near the town of Arlington in Carbon County.

Sgt. Stephen Townsend with the Wyoming Highway Patrol says 63-year-old Robert Kenney of Methuen, Mass., was pulling a house trailer westbound on I-80 when the accident occurred at around 11 a.m.

A wind gust caught both Kenney’s 2011 Dodge 3500 pickup and the trailer, causing both vehicles to roll over nearly twice. Earlier, WYDOT had posted a wind advisory for light- and high-profile vehicles.

Kenney, who was wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the vehicle and found dead at the scene. Townsend says the crash closed I-80 for approximately four hours.
