JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — About 50 people have been evacuated because of a 1,500 acre wildfire burning south of Jackson and more have been warned to be ready to leave.

The Little Horsethief Fire was threatening over a dozen structures and a major communication site on Snow King Mountain on Monday.

Residents were evacuated on Saturday, after the fire was first spotted, and on Monday morning more residents warned to be ready to leave. The Jackson Hole Daily reports that the fire crested the ridge south of Cache Creek Sunday night.

Snow King Resort has closed it summer operations as a precaution because of the fire, which is about 15 percent contained.

The blaze was spotted around 3 p.m. Saturday near the Little Horsethief subdivision.
