You can make your own traditional Greek - American gyros at home by layering homemade gyro meat of lamb and beef, (You can substitute pork or chicken for the ground lamb and beef if you prefer., but I don’t want authentic Greek Gyros of pork.) Add hummus, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and feta cheese on large pita bread.

There are more ingredients and steps along with cleanup, but it’s easier to let the pros do it, and more delicious because there are deserts, drinks, music dancing and more at The Cheyenne Greek Festival

Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Christian Church of Cheyenne, Wyoming, presents the 30th annual Cheyenne Greek Festival. Cheyenne’s annual exhibition of Greek culture and culinary delights Friday, September 16 4 – 10 p.m. & Saturday September 17 11 – 8 p.m. at Frontier Park Exhibition Hall. Free admission, free parking

Featuring lots of authentic Greek Food, and a raffle that includes a grand prize of a trip to Athens Greece. Greek music and dancing.

The festival has been at Frontier Park Exhibition Hall for 30 years but was originally formed as a fundraising bazaar and luncheon for the church. The money raised from the event still benefits Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and other local charities. This year the Cheyenne Greek Festival has chosen the Botanic Gardens in Lions Park, as the charity for the 2016 festival!
