Taxes done? That's a good feeling! Expecting a refund? Even better! Let McGee, Hearne & Paiz help you figure out when to expect your refund.

You can generally expect your refund within three weeks after the Internal Revenue Service accepts your e-filed return. Add additional time for refunds via paper check; selecting direct deposit is faster.

If you mail your return, rather than e-filing, you'll have to wait longer, too.

The IRS provides a tool to check the status of your refund on their website here. You'll need your Social Security Number, filing status (e.g., single, married jointly, etc.) and the exact dollar amount of your anticipated refund.

These tips are provided and sponsored by McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP. MHP is small enough to provide clients with quality personalized service beyond comparison, yet large enough to offer a depth of service from more than 65 partners and employees.
