CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Five of the six active fires burning in western Wyoming are being monitored by firefighters, while the sixth has been contained. Three of the fires are in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and two are in Yellowstone National Park. Firefighters are comfortable to let the fires burn for now because they are showing little growth, are in rugged areas and are posing no danger to visitors and facilities. Management of two fires in the Pinedale area has been returned to district control for monitoring.
