Weather Improves In Wyoming

Winter Weather
Bruce Dougherty, K2 Radio

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Sunshine and warmer temperatures are following behind the latest snowstorm to hit Wyoming this spring.

Monday’s storm dropped up to 13 inches of snow in some mountain areas. Lower elevations received generally 2 to 6 inches.

The storm brought record cold to the state. Cheyenne’s 11 degree reading overnight tied a 140-year record set in 1873. The temperature dipped to 16 below near Grant Village in Yellowstone National Park. Casper dropped to 9 degrees, and Worland 8.

But the National Weather Service says temperatures will warm up as the week progresses and reach 70 degrees this weekend.

Road travel remained touchy early Tuesday morning with slick areas primarily in central and southeast Wyoming, including the Cheyenne area. However, conditions should improve as the day wears on.
