As part of ongoing efforts to maintain Cheyenne’s water and sewer systems, the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities expects construction in the following areas during the upcoming week. This following list consists of the projects that require traffic controls and may be of interest to motorists and customers:

East 16th Street – Closed to through traffic between Hot Springs Avenue and Fremont Avenue. Also, Goshen Avenue between East 16th Street and East 17th Street will be closed to through traffic. Purpose: Fire hydrant replacement Expected Dates: 8/12/13 to 8/23/13

East 17th Street – Closed to through traffic between Big Horn Avenue and Campbell Avenue.Purpose: Fire hydrant replacement Expected Dates: 8/5/13 to 8/16/13

Maxwell Avenue – Closed to through traffic between East Lincolnway and East 17th Street. Purpose: Sewer main replacement  Expected Dates: 8/12/13 to 8/16/13

O’Neil Avenue – Closed to through traffic between East 26th Street and East 27th Street.Purpose: Sewer main replacement Expected Dates: 8/12/13 to 8/16/13

Syracuse Road – Closed to through traffic between Arapahoe Street and East Carlson Street.Purpose: Water main replacement Expected Dates: 8/12/13 to 9/13/13

Walterscheid Boulevard – Closed to through traffic between West Fox Farm Road and West College Drive. Local business and residential access is available.Purpose: Street work following water main installation. Expected Dates: 6/10/13 to 8/16/13

West 23rd Street – Closed to through traffic between O’Neil Avenue and Pioneer Avenue. Also, Thomes Avenue will be closed to through traffic between West 24th Street and West 23rd Street. These closures will limit access to the north entrance of the Laramie County Library parking lot. Library parking lot access will still be available from West 22nd Street and from O’Neil Avenue. Purpose: Sewer main repair. Expected Dates: 8/12/13 to 8/30/13
