Recalls and scams seem to be keeping criminals very busy these days. If you have a home security sign in front of your house, you'll want to be aware of this.

We are now being warned of "employee's" from a home security company that may show up at your front door. It has been reported that the phony employee is showing up to residents homes and telling them that there is a problem with their security system.

Once the perpetrator is let in the home to "diagnose the problem", what they're really doing is placing a master code, or sorts, in your security box. Then, when you leave your home, they are able to enter your home, shut off the alarm and then steal whatever it is you have that they want.

If someone shows up at your door, don't let them in. Then you need to verify with your home security carrier and if it is indeed a scam, call your local police department and report it.
