Voter ID in Wyoming?

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming voters would need to show photo identification at the polls under a proposed measure introduced in the state House.

Currently, registered voters do not need to provide identification in order to vote.

House Bill 167, sponsored by Republican Rep. Lars Lone, of Cheyenne, does not specify what forms of identification would be accepted for voting other than "a current, valid photo identification."

Lone says showing a photo ID would help eliminate mistakes, such as when he was given the wrong ballot in the last election.

Sabrina King of the American Civil Liberties Union says the organization opposed the photo ID voting requirement.

She noted voters are already required to show identification in order to register to vote.
