Voeller to Head 2 Departments for City of Cheyenne

Cheyenne Mayor-elect Marian Orr announced Tuesday that Jim Voeller will serve as City Engineer and Interim Director of the Planning Services Department.

The appointment marks a shift in the city's governmental structure as Voeller will head two distinct offices.

"I'm not combining these offices, but I am putting him in charge of both," said Orr. "I'm doing this because the departments need to work together and they need to share the same vision."

"We need to fix our roads and we need to do it right the first time because that's what the people of Cheyenne want," added Orr.

Voeller has been serving as interim City Engineer since July.

Orr says his vast private industry experience will be helpful in attaining her goal of making Cheyenne city government more customer friendly to citizens and the business community.
