Watching the battle between man and beast and Cheyenne Frontier Days it is easy to understand how dangerous the sport can be. There is always the risk of breaking something or, on occasion, the loss of life. Everyone involved in the sport takes careful precautions to make sure the event is as safe as it can be.

Back in 2013, country singer Aaron Watson released a song called "July In Cheyenne." The song touched the hearts of many who play the rodeo circuit.

The song tells the story of Lane Frost, a 25-year-old bull riding champion who lost his life back in July 1989.

Lane's story was turned into a movie '8 Seconds' starring Luke Perry. Aaron Watson wrote a song about him as a way to pay tribute. He said we wrote the song for Lane's Mama.
