LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — University of Wyoming trustees are scheduled to discuss the vacant president's position at the state's only public, four-year university.

Trustees are meeting in Laramie on Thursday and Friday.

Former President Bob Sternberg resigned last Nov. 14 after less than five months on the job. Sternberg was hired by the trustees last year after a search that lasted more than four months.

The Sternberg search raised controversy because the trustees tried to conduct it entirely in secret. The threat of a lawsuit by media eventually forced the trustees to release the names of the finalists.

However, the 2013 Legislature passed a new state law that allows UW and the state's community colleges to conduct entirely secret searches.

Dick McGinity is serving as interim president.
