The University of Wyoming will be holding a multicultural graduation ceremony at the UW Conference Center at the Hilton Garden Inn on Friday, May 10th.

According to the UW release, the event will have UW President Tom Buchanan and College of Arts and Sciences Dean Oliver Walter both as guest speakers.

According to the University, the UW International Students and Scholars office will be rewarding the graduates with a stole that represents the flag of their home country. The graduates will also receive kente-style, woven stoles which includes symbols and colors of their respective ethnicity and culture.

“Multicultural graduation is a wonderful program to celebrate the semester’s many multicultural and international graduates,” says Danee Hunzie, assistant director of admissions. She says the celebration also can be viewed via WYOCAST, allowing many of the students’ families from distant countries to participate.

There will be a special shuttle service from the Wyoming Union to the Hilton Garden Inn beginning at 2:30 p.m. The shuttle service will resume at 4:45 p.m. to take participants of the ceremony back to the Wyoming Union.
