The USS Cheyenne attack submarine arrived in Busan, South Korea on Tuesday, according to a news release from the U.S. Navy.

The Cheyenne is home-ported in Pearl Harbor and is the 62nd and last of the Los Angeles-class attack submarines. The Cheyenne was commissioned in 1996 and weighs more than 6,000 tons when submerged, according to the military newspaper Stars and Stripes.

The Cheyenne is named for Cheyenne, Wyoming. When the submarine was originally commissioned a large delegation of Cheyenne residents attended the ceremony in Virginia as part of a trip organized by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce in August of 1996.

Stars and Stripes article says the Cheyenne arrived in Busan just a month after the USS Michigan paid a visit.

The aircraft carriers USS Carl Vinson and Ronald Reagan conducted dual operations last week, and the Nimitz is on it's way to the Pacific as well, according to Stars and Stripes.
