The Wyoming State Crime Lab has provided the initial test results from the unknown liquid substance given to twenty four children at Afflerbach School on Thursday (May 3rd).

The results indicate that the substance that was brought on to school property by a student from the school appears to be a highly concentrated flavoring agent used in making candy.  Laramie County Sheriff's Department spokesman Gerry Luce says no controlled or illegal substances or poisons were detected by the testing. He says a more detailed analysis continues to determine all the components of the liquids.

Luce says the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department is still completing its investigation into the incident. Twenty Four children were affected and showed symptoms such as upset stomachs.  Medical responders and the school nurse provided initial assistance to the children.  None were transported for any additional medical treatment and all but one child returned to school on Friday.
