Two people were killed in a single vehicle crash early Friday morning on U.S. 310 about two miles south of Lovell in Big Horn County.

The Wyoming HIghwy Patrol says 54 year old David B. Daniel of Lovell was northbound, when the vehicle crossed over the center line, across the southbound lane and then went off the roadway on the left side. Daniel over corrected the vehicles steering causing the vehicle to come back onto the roadway and go into a broadside slide across the roadway going off the road on the right side. The vehicle continued off the roadway where it struck a fence post and power pole and then rolled approximately 1 1/2 time coming to rest in an irrigation ditch on its top. Daniel, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time, was declared dead at the scene.

A passenger, identified as 25 year old Lovell resident Joe Whiting, also died in the crash. Another passenger 39 year old Frank J. Whiting, of Cheyenne was treated & released from North Big Horn Hospital. The patrol says alcohol is a contributing factor that is being investigated in this fatal crash.
