Two people died in a single vehicle rollover crash west of Casper early today, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The pickup involved in the crash was reported stolen later Wednesday, according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

Dubois resident Kevin J. Swofford, 44, and Riverton resident Lori A. Guttke, 23, died at the scene on U.S. Highway 20-26 about 61 miles west of Casper or about 30 miles east of Shoshoni.

Sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m., Swofford was driving the pickup eastbound when it drifted off the road and struck a delineator post.

He over-corrected, and the pickup tripped and rolled.

Neither Swofford nor Guttke were wearing their seat belts. Guttke was ejected from the pickup. Swofford remained in the cab during the rollover.

The Highway Patrol is investigating driver fatigue and possible alcohol use as contributing factors.

Their deaths marked the projected 128th and 129th highway fatalities for 2015, compared to 132 fatalities this same time last year.

Around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, the pickup involved in the crash was reported stolen to the Fremont County Sheriff's Office out of the Dubois area, according to the news release.
