A 3-vehicle accident Tuesday morning has taken the lives of a Florida couple.

It happened at roughly 9:30 AM Tuesday near Muddy Gap Junction in Carbon County, and involved a full-sized sedan with a man and woman from Jacksonville, Florida, and a large SUV driven by a 59-year-old woman from Eckert, Colorado.

The sedan was traveling southbound on highway 789 when it came to a stop sign at the intersection with highway 220.

The large, luxury SUV was traveling westbound on 220, when the driver of the sedan tried to pull across the road, it is believed to go to a convenience store, and crossed in front of the SUV which then t-boned the car. Both vehicles then slid into the side of a tractor-trailer rig waiting to turn left at the intersection.

The man and woman in the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the SUV was life-flighted to Casper. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
