UPDATE: The accident happened around 7am on Saturday morning. A car with 3 occupants was traveling southbound on Interstate 25, and passing over the Highway 20/26 bypass when it lost traction and rolled down an embankment.

One passenger, Ray Gomez of Casper, was ejected and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The two other passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.

 

ORIGINAL STORY: There has been a fatal accident as a result of the snowy weather and slick conditions.

It is near Casper, on Interstate 25 southbound at mile marker 189.

It apparently involves only one vehicle and there is one person dead.

The Highway Patrol is handling the incident, with the Natrona County Sheriff's Department assisting.

We have no other information currently, but will update as soon as it becomes available.
