While United States Army Captain Wade Myers is in Afghanistan, answering our call to defend America, his wife Krystal is keeping the home fires burning. It can’t be easy, as many service spouses already know, so we would like to lend a hand. Our most generous listeners made donations to our non-profit “Townsquare Cares” fund and as such, we are able to help out Wyoming military families who have members deployed. Here, we get to assist a growing family (2 + 1 on the way) to have a brighter holiday season with a $500 gift and a humongous “THANK YOU!”

When I asked Krystal if she had any plans for the money, she immediately said she would take care of her kids and her husband and his team. I’ll bet this is typical of Krystal, putting family first. But Krystal, do something nice for YOU too. You are an MVP and deserve something good.

Thank you Krystal and family for your part in our freedom.

Here’s her submission for our Townsquare Cares campaign:

My husband, Captain Wade Myers, deployed with C Co 5/159th Aviation Regiment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel back in October. He serves as a Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) pilot in the region and has been in the Army for over 9 years now. Together we have two children, Carsen and Mackenzie, ages 5 and 18 months respectively, and just found out after my husband’s departure that we are expecting baby #3 in July of 2016.
A $500 gift from Townsquare Cares would be used by our family to help brighten our children's spirits in the absence of their father. With two young children and a baby on the way life has been busy and emotionally overwhelming at times. I work full time with the Wyoming Military Department and attend school as well so life is busy to say the very least. Additionally, we found out only a week after my husband’s departure that we are expecting our third child, which is both exciting and nerve-racking for a mother attempting to do everything on her own and not knowing if my husband will be able to be home for the birth. Our son, who just started kindergarten and has undergone so many adjustments in the past few months is also quite saddened by the recent deployment. Although our daughter is young, she still seems to understand that her Daddy isn’t home and that his voice isn’t often heard and she too has undergone an emotional roller coaster since his departure. I'm sure that a f ew extra gifts from Daddy this year would make a dramatic difference in our Christmas. Additionally, the kids and I would love the ability to send my husband and his unit a Christmas gift that would brighten their Christmas as well.

God bless you all Krystal, and thanks again from all of us.

Merry Christmas.
