The Afghan soldier reportedly invited the three soldiers to breakfast and then opened fire. A Taliban spokesperson touted the gunman and claimed “Now he is with us.” This type violence is increasing. 34 NATO troops have been killed already this year in either incidents being carried because of ‘personal grievances’ or in orchestrated attacks by groups like the Taliban.
