The wife of the late Wyoming U-S Senator Craig Thomas says the Craig and Susan Thomas Foundation is working through a number of different programs to help at risk youth overcome some of the challenges they face. Susan Thomas, who is also a former teacher, says one such program offers scholarships to students who may face difficult circumstances, often through no fault of their own. Mrs. Thomas , on "The Morning Zone"  Friday spoke about a young woman who graduated from a Casper high school with a GPA of 1.6 and a track record of hating school. Susan Thomas says the woman today, through the help of the scholarship, is completing her fourth year of pre-medical school, and faces a seemingly bright future. Susan Thomas says another foundation program recognizes one adult every year who goes above and beyond the call of duty to help at-risk youth. Craig Thomas represented Wyoming for many years, first in the U-S House and later in the Senate, before he passed away from complications from leukemia in 2007.
