It won't be long and UW football will kick off again. However, who will take home the bronze boot this season. Here is an interesting history of the boarder war prize.

The longest rivalry between two schools is the boarder war between the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University.

The first time the teams played each other was way back in 1899. According to history, Colorado State University was a forfeit win.

The 'bronze boot' has it's own history and a most interesting one at that. The tradition started during the Vietnam War, in 1968, by the ROTC detachments from each of the colleges.

The boot was said to have been worn by CSU ROTC instructor Dan J. Romero and is the traveling trophy awarded to the winner of the boarder war winner every year. Romero's boot was cast in bronze, which makes it an authentic award.

As of January 7, 2015, the University of Wyoming has a 131-92 series lead over Colorado State University. Go Pokes!
