The Friday Food Bag Foundation Partners’ With Cheyenne To Help Feed Hungry Kids

Sometimes we have a hard time believing how many hungry students there are in Laramie County. The Friday Food Bag Foundation is partnering with Cheyenne to help.  When it comes to volunteerism, Laramie County residents shine bright. Together, we are able to do great things in this community, and feeding hungry children is no exception.

Judy Weickum, Director for the foundation states that much of what they do is donated. From the food, to monies, to where they hold their offices. The community is wonderful at donating to take care of these kids that may not see their next meal until Monday morning.

Since 2010, when the Friday Food Bag Foundation was officially established, the group has been feeding hungry children with a sack lunch on Fridays, to supplement their meals at the school.

Other ways the community can donate and help out the foundation is by Adopt-A-Bag program, the Brown Bag Ball and volunteering time to separate the food and fill the bags for Friday deliveries.
