Tom Manning has been writing since his days in college. I think he may have outdone himself with his new project, launched on Wyoming PBS, "The Blizzard of '49."

Wyoming came to a standstill back in 1949, with about 55,000 head of cattle and about 100,000 sheep being lost, the trains and transportation at a halt and people's mobility were slowed down to a crawl.

The military, friends, family and others all chipped in to help out the people and livestock that were stranded by the blizzard of 1949.

In case you missed it, Tom Manning's video production is available on line, but you can watch it here. We hope you enjoy this window of history, but writer and producer Tom Manning.
