SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) — A Sheridan teenager involved in the 2009 home invasion slaying of a Sheridan businessman faces a new sentencing hearing.

Wyatt Bear Cloud originally had received a life sentence for his role in the killing of 79-year-old Robert Ernst.

District Judge John Fenn has set the new sentencing hearing for Wednesday in Sheridan.

The United States Supreme Court ordered Wyoming to grant Bear Cloud a new sentencing hearing following a ruling in an Alabama case that judges must consider options other than life in prison for juveniles convicted of murder.

Another teenager who fired the shots that killed Ernst is set to be resentenced later this year. The third defendant was 18 at the time of the shooting and is asking for a new sentencing hearing also.
