Wyoming Equality and The Array School of Technology and Design are sponsoring the Tech Jobs Tour visit to Cheyenne on Tuesday, according to Wyoming Equality Executive Director Sara Burlingame.

She says the event will have two goals--exposing local residents to the job opportunities in the technical fields, as well as introducing Wyoming to some of the movers and shakers in the tech industry.

The keynote speaker at the event will be Megan Smith the former Vice-President of Google. Smith also served as the third Chief Technology Officer of the United States during the administration of President Barack Obama. Burlingame has an inspiring vision for the possible impacts of technology and investment on the economy.

Cynthia Bailey Lee, a professor of computer science at Stanford University, is also scheduled to speak.

Burlingame says Wyoming Equality helped bring the event to Cheyenne because that organization is not only interested in promoting equal rights, but also "in making our state as competitive as possible'' when it comes to economic growth and diversification.

Burlingame says that while she encourages people to register ahead of time if possible, the event is free and open to the public
