The National Park Service has released a prospectus soliciting proposals from businesses interested in providing guided, interpretive oversnow vehicle tours of Yellowstone National Park. Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers are starting special overtime patrols on Thanksgiving Day that will continue through New Years Eve
The new contracts will take the place of 13 concession contracts for guided interpretive snowcoach tours and 21 commercial use authorizations (CUA) for guided interpretive snowmobile tours currently in place in Yellowstone.

Currently, the park has 44 contracts for guided saddle and pack stock tours. The existing 10-year contracts are set to expire in December, 2013, but have been extended for one year to December, 2014, in order to complete this EA.
