The park changed the way they count visitors this year. Officials say while the total number of recreational visitors to Yellowstone in July was down 5.25 percent, vehicle traffic was up 4.32 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
Visitation to Yellowstone National Park for September was down slightly compared to last year’s levels. The park recorded 527,610 recreational visitors in September 2012, down 1.6 percent from last year. Despite the decline, it was still the third highest September visitation ever recorded.
The Wyoming Land Trust announced that donated conservation easements among six ranch properties in eastern Sweetwater County will conserve over 1,700 acres of sage grouse Habitat.
