E-Filing Campaign Reports Workshops Available

The Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office will conduct regional workshops aimed at assisting state candidates, candidate committees, political action committees, organizations, and political parties with e-filing their campaign finance disclosure reports.

The workshops will be offered at seven locations around the state from June 6 to June 20. State Election's Director Peggy Nighswonger says the goal in offering regional hands-on training is to ensure that everyone understands the legal requirements of campaign finance reporting and how easily and efficiently people can file online.

Wyoming Secretary of State's Office Issues Scam Alert

Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield wants to warn Wyoming business owners of a deceptive solicitation letter and form that has surfaced in many states.

Maxfield says businesses have received a letter and form that appears to be an “Annual Minutes Disclosure Statement.” According to a news release, the form seems to insinuate that it is to be filled out and a fee paid in order for the businesses to comply with state and national laws. These forms may even reference “state statutes”, “piercing the corporate veil” or “the Patriot Act.”
