A recent telephone survey of adult Wyoming residents shows most are satisfied with how WYDOT is managing the state's transportation system, according to a press release from the agency.

WYDOT Is Waiving Oversize Load Fees For Hay [AUDIO]

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is waiving oversize-load fees for shipments of hay coming into the state as part of the drought disaster relief effort.the waiver took effect Monday and will continue until the drought disaster designations expire or until Dec. 31st, when conditions will be re-evaluated. The National Parks Conservation Association has recognized Gov. Matt Mead and the state for helping to address wildlife-vehicle collisions on Wyoming's roads and along wildlife corridors. Increase In State Fuel Tax Possible [AUDIO]

People driving along the Beartooth Highway along the Montana-Wyoming state line this summer will be asked to stop and take a survey. Doug Randall reports. Raising Wyoming's gasoline tax as well as increasing vehicle registration fees and driver's license fees were among the proposals reviewed by the Wyoming Legislature's Joint Revenue, and Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Interim Committees, during a joint meeting in Cheyenne Tuesday. WYDOT Receives $20 Million For Damaged Roads

The Wyoming Department of Transportation has been awarded $20 million in federal funding to help recover repair costs for numerous Wyoming roadways damaged by natural disaster during the spring and early summer of 2011. The reimbursement was announced earlier this month by the U.S. Department of Transportation. In total the state will receive $20.8 million to reimburse the state for work undertaken on an emergency or urgent basis at nearly 60 sites located in 13 counties.

Central Avenue Project Almost Finished

WYDOT Resident Engineer Don Fuller says work on the I-180 Central Avenue overpass project is almost finished, adding both lanes of the northbound bridge should open up on Friday, April 6th. Fuller says there may be a few daily lane closures over the next couple of weeks to accommodate follow up work on both the northbound and southbound bridges, but he says that work should cause only minor traffic delays.

WY-130 Finally Open

One month and a day after they began, WYDOT crews from Laramie and Saratoga broke through historically deep and heavy snowpack on WYO 130. The alpine roadway between Centennial and Saratoga is now open for the season. WYDOT spokesman Ross Doman says the men worked 60 hour weeks. The last ten working days, dozers moved snow until midnight. Equipment dedicated to the high country snow removal campaign included three snow cats, four dozers, six rotary blowers, and two plows.Motorists are advised that these turnaround spots are open on WYO 130: Libby Turn Loop, Libby Flats Observation Area, Medicine Bow Peak Overlook, both East and West Lake Marie turnarounds, and the Silver Lake parking lot.

Battle Highway (WYO 70) Clearing Delayed by Slide

Wyoming Department of Transportation officials say Battle Highway (Wyo. 70) east of Baggs has slid out. About 300 feet of roadway dropped 15 feet.

The area is located above the road closure gate just west of the overlook at mile post 30. WYDOT will send a team of geology experts to assess the damage and determine timing and steps to repair the road. Ongoing slides in other areas of the state may delay their arrival until later in the week.
