U.W. Professor To Conduct NCAR Research [AUDIO]
University of Wyoming Geology and Geophysics Professor Po Chen will become the first U.W. Faculty member to conduct research at the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center in Cheyenne. Lummis Hoping for Farm Bill Compromise [AUDIO]
Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis is hoping a compromise can be worked out on a new farm bill before the existing bill expires at the end of this month. She says if not, the current bill will likely be extended. The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees voted Friday to contract with Groathouse Construction of Laramie for the renovation and expansion of the facility which will be known as the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center. U.W. Announces $10 Million Gift For Gateway Center
The University of Wyoming announced a historic $10 million gift from philanthropist Marian Rochelle that will support the construction of a state-of-the art Gateway Center that will become the signature entrance facility to the university, connecting students, alumni and friends.“The Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center is a culmination of my mother’s philanthropic gifting to the University of Wyoming,” says Rochelle’s daughter and fellow philanthropist, former state Sen. April Brimmer Kunz. Located on the corner of 22nd Street and Grand Avenue near War Memorial Stadium, the 60,000-plus-square-foot facility will be named the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.
