Most of the nation will spring forward an hour for Daylight Saving Time this Sunday, and Cheyenne Fire Rescue is encouraging people to test their smoke alarms.
The American Red Cross and Cheyenne Fire&Rescue installed 209 smoke alarms in 55 homes on Saturday, July 16.
About a quarter of the alarms were installed by the fire department inside the city limits of Cheyenne, with the others installed in Laramie County homes by the Red Cross.
