Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield says the number of registered voters statewide is just under 239,000, up about 20,000 compared to the number of registered voters on primary election day in August. David Bullard, Senior Economist with the Research and Planning Section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the state experienced continued job growth during the second quarter of 2012. Maxfield: You Must Give Employees Time Off To Vote

Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield says employers are required by state statute to give employees one hour off to vote on primary election day August 21st. Employers face a misdemeanor charge and a fine up to $1,000 if they are found in violation of the law.

Wyoming State Forestry: More Than 50 Range Fires This Year [AUDIO]

The Wyoming State Forestry Division says more than 50 large range fires burned at least 93,000 acres of state and private land this year. Doug Randall has the story. Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield recently signed a final consent order that required brokerage firm Raymond James to pay a $21,489 fine to the State of Wyoming. Maxfield says the order also required Raymond James to complete or confirm its re-purchase of Auction Rate Securities from Wyoming clients to settle allegations that the firm’s securities dealers misled investors about the safety of the ARS market.
