Visitors to America's national parks will encounter fewer rangers, find locked restrooms and visitors centers, and see trashcans emptied less often if 5 percent across-the-board federal budget cuts are enacted.

The University of Wyoming will see more construction after the Legislature mostly granted and in some cases added to, U.W.'s requests for capital projects in the next biennium budget. Doug Randall has the details. The National Park Service is awarding nearly $31,000 to preserve The Heart Mountain Relocation Center, where thousands of Japanese Americans were detained during World War II. National Park Service Evaluating Trails in Wyoming [Audio]

Doug Randall reports that an Iowa man has pleaded guilty to a Federal charge of child pornography. The man admitted in court that he persuaded a Wyoming teenager to send him sexually explicit images of herself over the internet. The National Park Service is seeking public comments concerning 64 routes in Wyoming that are being evaluated for possible addition to the Oregon, California, Pony Express and Mormon Pioneer trails.
